There are many historical, cultural and natural landmarks in Rio de Janeiro.
Christ the Redeemer is the most famous sight here. It is located at the peak of the 700-metre Corcovado Mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park overlooking the city of Rio de Janeiro. A symbol of Christianity across the world, the statue has also become a cultural icon of both Rio de Janeiro and Brazil and is listed as one of the New Seven Wonders of the World.

Climate and weather
Rio de Janeiro experienced a tropical savanna climate that closely borders a tropical monsoon climate. There are no accurate seasons in Rio. However, the weather is hot during the period between December and March. The daily average temperature is +26 °C. Sometimes it rains. From June until September the weather becomes colder and more overcast. The temperature is circa +21 °C on average. The rainfall occurs more frequent.
The tourists usually visit Rio de Janeiro during the whole year. However, if you like beach rest, you should come in winter. During that time water is very warm here.
